After a couple of years away from the pressures of running their own restaurant and a deserved, long break in Italy, Mario and Lyn Velotti have returned to open Bacco, an Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar in the historic port of Brixham.
Their arrival is another feather in the cap for the growing reputation of Brixham as a foodie centre of excellence.
Many diners will know Mario and Lyn from their 12 years at the Avon Inn at Avonwick and most recently at Velottis in Bovey Tracey. At both these venues they built an excellent reputation for good value, quality cuisine.

Many diners will know Mario and Lyn from their 12 years at the Avon Inn at Avonwick and most recently at Velottis in Bovey Tracey. At both these venues they built an excellent reputation for good value, quality cuisine.
Bacco is located just yards from the harbour just opposite the Prince William statue and is near the main town centre car park but off the main road in a quiet alley. The wine bar has a modern, continental atmosphere and the separate restaurant, which can seat 32, is more traditional and cosy.
The menu offers a large choice of Italian dishes from starters through to desserts but this will evolve with new dishes appearing on specials boards from time to time.
The wine list features mainly Italian wines, which is not unexpected from a restaurant named after the god of wine, who planted the first vines in Sicily, and these are supplemented with a small selection of New World wines.
Although Bacco has only just opened, Mario is already putting together a Christmas Party menu so if you want to be sure of good food in a great atmosphere book now.
